DH and I are expecting our first, a boy. We have a few names that we love, but are not sold on for a few reasons. I'd love to hear some suggestions!
I'd describe our style as very preppy. We're open to surname-names, but our last name rhymes with "burner," so the "er" names are kind of a mouth-full. And I'm getting tired of all the Hunters, Parkers, Thatchers, etc. in our group of friends.
Our favorites:
Penn -- not wild about the Penn State connection... but this is our top choice
Chapin -- family name, but something just doesn't feel right about it
Adler -- family name, but there's the "er" problem
Fletcher -- DH's favorite, but again with the "er" issue
Reid -- This is my fave, but DH doesn't love it. Plus, there's a good chance we'll get a redhead, and the name means red-haired. I don't know why the name being literally correct would bother me, but there you have it!
If it helps, DH has vetoed: Everett, Bennett, Owen, Orson, Auden, Shepherd, Birch (among hundreds of other names I've suggested...)
TIA for your help!!
Re: Suggestions based on our discard list??
I'm thinking of bringing some of DH's rejects back up for discussion again. I will definitely work this one in!

What about Alden? I like the meaning behind it...although I feel like people might mistake it for Aiden when they see it.
Other ideas: Sullivan, Franklin, Samson, Campbell, Emmett, Gray, Holden, Nelson, Preston
Reid is my favorite from your list.
