Re: Lunches, a genius idea from Pinterest!

I saw this on Pinterest a little while back and thought this idea was awesome!

How cool are these reusable baking cups?  Our kids are still a little young for needing sauces with their lunches but they could be used to seperate different foods in one container.  You could use these with containers you already have rather than buying new ones with compartments and you can use any size container and basically customize it.  Apparently they carry them at Michael's but if you can't find them or don't have a Michael's nearby you can get them from Amazon, too.  https://www.amazon.com/Wilton-Silicone-Pastel-Standard-Baking/dp/B000NBODLI?ie=UTF8&tag=mommakmon-20&link_code=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969

Now I need to remember to buy some myself!

  • What a great idea! I'll probably use this for my own lunches. Thanks for sharing.

my thoughts. To avoid being wasteful I would just use little plastic reusable containers with a top.

I use little containers as well for DH's lunches.  I'm not convinced that sauces wouldn't end up all over everything with those silicone cups.

  • I saw a bunch of bento box ideas while on maternity leave and I wasn't looking at them thinking for Ty one day, but for myself and I've been using silicone cups like this for things like hummus and peanut butter for lunches (now I have a jar of PB at my desk though).

It is a great idea.  I don't do it that often though because I personally don't eat many things that would go in there!

  • Those are a great idea and perfect since they're moldable!!

  • The silicone cups are great to separate foods, but sauces can spill. There are tons of plastic cups and cute containers especially for sauces when you look at Bento lunches. I have been doing this for Max (sans sauces so far) and myself. It's visually appealing and a good variety in one container.

  • I use my 2oz. Medela containers for dressings. And the 4oz. ones for my almond milk for cereal & coffee on my trips. Never had a leak!!! :)
