when will the cramps stop?

i had my baby a week and a day ago and i thought the cramps had stopped but now im really feeling cramps again. i have been on ibuprofen three pills three times a day since i had her and am feeling these cramps now. i would like to get off the ibuprofen so im wondering how long i am going to have to keep taking it and when these cramps will go away?? thanks!

also on a side note, how long do you recommend taking the stool softeners? i have been taking one pill three times a day also since i had her.  i had a tear that was a one if that makes any difference and i think i have hemroids as i bleed a little after a bm. sorry tmi. im getting tired of the almost diahrea like bm but dont want it to be painful so im lookong for advice. thanks ladies!

    I had a 4th degree tear. I quit taking stool softeners until i was 5weeks pp. I took only 1-2x a day depending if i remembered to take or not. I also made sure to eat alot i mean alot of fiber. As for the cramping mine lasted a couple weeks and still comes and goes. I only took the ibprufen for 1 1/2 weeks. I started to take myself down on the dosage etc i was taking 800 and went to 400 then 200 twice a day now i just feel like my period is going to come lol

    I actually welcomed the cramps. The cramps are a sign that your uterus is shrinking. It is contracting back to the normal size pp...So the more you breastfeed, the more you will feel it...I' 6weeks pp and the cramps are pretty much gone.

    The first time around I cramped and bled for 6 weeks even with BFing. This time around I'm hoping for shorter but like PP said, its a sign that your uterus is shrinking back to the normal size so its a good thing.
