Just wondering how many people go to Associated OB/GYN in Clarkston? I love it there! I just wish they were associated with another hospital besided St. Joes. Dr. Corsi is the best.
Is this your first? I am not too keen on delivering at St. Joes? Have you had any experience there? The last time I was hospitalized there, it was a very bad experience, fortunately it was not ob/gyn related but the medical floor sucks!!!
My DD is 6mo now and she is my first. Overall I wasnt very thrilled about st joes but it ended up not being that bad. They recently remodeled the maternity floor and the nurses are very attentive. I however got stuck with a b*tch for a nurse during labor. I told her my epi wasnt working and that it was leaking all over my back and she told me that I was wrong and it was just sweat I never asked if st joes was the only hospital they delivered out of but I will definitely ask next time
I had my first with them last August. Dr. K was my doctor and she was phenomenal. My son had to stay for a few extra days after I was supposed to be discharged and she went and talked to the head of the department about letting me stay in a room with him even though I was going to be made to leave. She went above and beyond any doctor needed to do. I was a little leary about going to St. Joe's too, especially because my mom has worked at Beaumont for over 20 years. When I told my concerns to Dr. Corsi he explained that if I was at Beaumont and I had any issues I would be sent to St. Joe's because they are the only hospital in the area with a neonatalogist on staff. My cousin who just had a baby last week had issues all through her pregnancy and she had to come each week all the way to St. Joe's from Clinton Township to get her ultrasounds because they are the only hospital in the area to have that equipment.
What is your concern with the hospital? If it's because it is in Pontiac it is pretty much on the very edge of Pontiac you are in Bloomfield Hills and then cross the line into Pontiac and that's where St. Joe's is.
I will only ever go to Associated OB/GYN the doctors and nurses are wonderful and I had an excellent experience at St. Joe's.
The last time I was admitted to St. Joes was for a gyno problem and wasn't happy with the care I received. Then I left the hospital with a massive blood infection and was told that they hope I didn't sue them. I would love to go to Huron Valley but Dr. Corsi is no longer affiliated with them and I just don't care for St. Joes. But I am willing to over look it becuase I get excellent care from my OB.
