Baby Showers

party favor- kids?

Hey ladies! Would love your opinion. My baby shower is this weekend. My mom got all the RSVP's and among the adults we are having 7 kids attending. All girls ages 4-11.

My mom bought favors for the adults months ago (super cheap @ bath & body works outlet). We won't have enough of the "adult" favors to give to both adults & kids. It is a small candle in a glass votive. We bought 30 and now we are having 26 adults & 7 kids.

Question- should we come up with something last minute to give the 7 girls too or just not worry about it?

If you suggest we get a favor for them- any suggestions? Preferrably not something that costs a lot or possibly even an idea of something we could make in the next couple days.

  • My niece's 10th birthday party was this weekend.  She had an 80's party and it was ridiculously cute.  My SIL did goodie bags with nailpolish, a nail file and a pack of Bubblalicious.  She put them in a clear cellophane bag and tied them with a pretty ribbon.  They were adorable!

If you are giving the adults something, then yes, I would get the girls a little something, too.  Either that, or the adults will end up giving their favors to the kids.  It doesn't have to be expensive - I like the nail polish idea or what about a lip gloss and a little mirror or shower gel and lotion (think dollar store!).  As long as it's wrapped up cute, the kids will love anything you do.

  • Love these ideas! :-) Thanks ladies! They are all girly girls too so any nail polish or lipgloss will go over VERY well! I felt like I had complete pregnancy brain trying to think of something. lol

  • If you want to do a favor/activity you could get some beads and such and allow them to make their own bracelets.  Some can be larger beads to make it easier for the little ones to create their own.  Maybe but the strings and a few special beads in a bag for each girl then have a few dishes with other basic beads in them.  You could also give each girl their own charm so they can have something truly special on their bracelet.  I am sure by the end of the party they will all by showing off their creations to their moms.

  • I like tiffmatt's idea of an activity that can double as a shower favor.  The parents will appreciate that the girls have something to keep them busy.  I'd hit the craft store and set up a little craft table for the kids.
  • The craft idea is a really good idea. Except we are already doing the onesies where everyone can design them and a diaper one where they will write or drawl something on those too. I figure those two things will keep the girls entertained. Especially one in particular who LOVES to drawl.

If my MIL & SIL didn't already have those two items planned, I'd definately go for the beaded bracelets! Very cute idea!

  • Ok, I saw the title of this post and genuinely thought you were offering children as a party favour... Wow. Go me.

What about disposable cameras for the older children, and something like colouring books for the younger ones?
