Question regarding bf's daughter

Hi- My bf and I are expecting are first child together.  I have an 8 year old daughter and he has a 14 and 11 year old son and a 9 year old daughter.  His daughter was born with severe disorders which impact her daily. His ex-wife had more kids with her current husband and one of their daughters has the same disorder as my bf's daughter and it is a genetic disorder from their mom.  Is this something I should bring up with my ob at my next appointment? Any suggestions welcomed :-)   I'm 13 weeks today due January 22, 2013.

Re: Question regarding bf's daughter

  • It could not hurt to bring it up. I am sure that your doctor wants to know everything and anything that could impact your or the baby. Plus, it might make you feel better.

  • I'm a little confused.. If the disorder is proven to be from the mom, why would you mention it? Unless he also tested positive as a carrier.
