For those who are back to working out..

Hi ladies! This is my first post on the May board (Madi was supposed to be a June bug but surprised me a little early).

My question to you all is how is working out going for you? I started walking at about 2 weeks PP after my first check up for my c/s. We were getting in about 4-5 miles a day and I felt great. At my 6 week appt. my midwife said I was clear to do what ever I wanted so I started the Jillian Michale's Ripped in 30. When I had done it before getting pregnant it kicked my butt and I never got passed week 2. I started it today and while it was still tough I was hanging in there really well! That is until we got to the abs...HOLY  CRAP!! I feel like I've never done a crunch in my life, let alone plank. I guess it's to be expected but is anyone else noticing significant loss of strength like that?

  • I worked out for the first time today (6weeks PP). I started at a light jog and I felt like my uterus was bouncing so I just did a brisk walk. I guess it will take some time to get back into it.

  • Gotta be from the c/s I think...I was really in shape PP & even had a little "4-pack" going on! Now that I've had a c/s my abs are shot! I started the Insanity program and this is my 2nd week. The first couple days my belly was as weak as jelly lol, but once I hit the 3rd or 4th day it was game time! I finish the workout with 200 crunches and it's getting easier :)

  • Im 5weeks pp and last week went back to the gym full strength. Abs were hard the first couple times but much easier. Tonight im making myself do an hour long ab/core workout at my gym given by al the trainers lol wish me luck. I figure if someone is pushing me i will do ok. And if i only make it through 30min hey thats more then i would have done at home. But my gym workout is 1 1/2hours im on day 6today and tomorrow will be my day of rest. Good luck on the home workout. Those are hard dor me as i get to distracted at home. When i go to my gym i have nothing to focus on but my workout

I wondered if it had to do with the c/s. I'm glad to know it gets better so I'll hang in there :)

I wish I could go to the gym! I think when she is older and I can take her to the day care at the gym I'll get back at it. I really didn't like working out before I was pregnant and now I really have a drive to get in shape so I don't get as distracted as I used to.

  • Haha I attempted leg lifts....not happening.
  • I'm thinking c/s as I'm basically back to normal. I've been doing my bike commute (20 miles round trip) since I returned to work 2 weeks ago 2-4 times a week. I've already biked over 200 miles since I returned to biking. My yoga practice seems to be about what I'd expect after taking a break as well.
  • I had a c/s too. I started with simple pelvic tilts and isometric contractions, them moved to crunches to build up. I plan on re-starting P90X next month. Just do what you can but be consistent. Your strength will return. Treat yourself with kindness but give yourself a challenge.
