I am 36 and just had an advanced maternal age ultrasound done on Monday. Everything was normal except the nasal bone length I was told was shown to be short. I have been referred to a specialist for another ultrasound. I am really trying not to think the worst but it is just so hard. I wondered if anyone else had gone through this that could give me some positive encouragement. I have just been having a really hard time dealing with this and can't stop worrying. Thank you in advance for any help or advice.
Re: Nasal Bone Length
EDIT: Please see response below.
Ok, my ignorance s going to show here...
I thought that if there was a nasal bone at all then downs was out? I thought the marker for downs syndrom was the absence of the bone completely. What if the family just has genetically small noses?
I hope the specialst eases your worries.
You are right! I was thinking neck measurement. I have never heard of nasal bone length.
