Is anyone's LO off the bottle and strictly on sippys?
Also, should I wean to milk first or get him to take formula in a sippy and then switch it to milk?
How do I wean to milk (I know this one has been asked a hundred times but I'm rushing around today so I can't go digging.)
Re: I think I'm late to the game.
We still do both, so if you're late to the game then so am I. We do water and a little WCM in sippy cups and BM in bottles. I've thought about getting rid of the bottles, but Kendall will spill or leak out of the sippy and I don't want to waste the BM since I have started weaning.
I second PP - we're still doing 2 8-oz bottles of formula a day, one with breakfast and one at night before bed. They are slowly starting to self-wean off the night time bottle, but I plan on keeping these for a little while longer. Sippy's, for us, are water only, and we've only just started "talking" about introducing WCM.
No. Lydia only gets bottles at naps and bedtime.
I would wean to milk first.
Here is the process I did:
Week 1: 75% formula, 25% milk
Week 2: 50% formula, 50% milk
Week 3: 25% formula, 75% milk
Week 4: 100% milk
HTH!
BTW - thanks for having posted this so many times, it's so simple I know I can remember it! And with Mommy brain, my memory is not what it used to be LOL. I think we're going to start this process at a year.
Okay this is what I think I'll try, but is it the 75% and 25% milk for all bottles/sippys that day? Or you do one bottle or sippy for the whole day?
The sippies I give her only contain water or really watered down juices. The bottles only contain the formula/milk combo. For instance, if you give him an 8oz bottle and it's week 1 (75% formula /25% milk), you give 6oz formula, 2oz milk. Does this help?
So if he gets he still gets 3 bottles a day so for each bottle he's getting the 75/25 right?
Correct.
Ok one more question and I swear I'm done.
How much milk do they still need to drink after they are completely weaned from formula?
