Food Aversions.. I think :/

Morning!!

It seems like the moment I hit 6 weeks, food aversions started. Just thinking about certain types of food has my stomach knot up into a pukey mess.

Not sure if it's m/s or not but I'm definitely staying clear from anything heavily spiced! I also can't get enough dairy. Cereal, yogurt and cheese are all I can think of!

Anyone else?

  • Chocolate :(

It's one of the reason I tested.  I am usually craving chocolate within the week before my period, but this month I looked at chocolate and gagged!

I'm craving seafood.  Last week my husband was making fun of me because I kept talking about crab.  Now we realize it's probably a pg craving.

  • Yep, I can't look at ice cream. Bars are usually ok, but if it is a blob, I feel sick. It is going to be interesting at my DD's birthday party this weekend. All she can talk about this week is having ice cream.

  • Although I'm all about dairy right now... ice cream isn't all that appealing... cheese sticks on the other hand totally get me going ;)

I felt exactly the same way the day I hit six weeks. Before that I was feeling relatively fine. Now my aversions change with the day--actually with the hour, though some (like seafood and beef) are pretty consistent.

I hear you on the dairy. I'm in love with milk and cheese right now.

  • I don't want anything sweet, and I used to have a HUGE sweet tooth. Mainly, I've just been wanting Italian food.

Oh, and yogurt can suck it. I used to have one every day at lunch. Then, one day I opened it and almost vomited at the smell. Like, really, body? You've turned me against yogurt? C'mon! It's good for me!

  • So far, nothing out of the ordinary. But I just hit 6 weeks, so we'll see!
  • my dh made steak on the grill the other night and ugh I wanted nothing to do with it.  I passed my mother a piece and pushed it off the fork with my finger and then licked my finger just to see and omg it was gross.  I wasn't sure if it was the bbq taste or the steak itself but it definitely was not good.

  • At 4 weeks I suddenly hated the taste of coffee. That was part of what made me think, hmmm, maybe I should test.  I still don't like it, I tried decaf.  I'm loving milk and fruit like strawberries and watermelons.  I can't stand the smell of bananas though.  Otherwise I've been good with regular foods. So far.

  • I am 4w1d (I know really early!) but I've noticed foods SMELLING different. And the other day I had some fries that have never tasted so good in my life.

shellmaneth- I wish I hated the smell of coffee right now. I am a full addict to coffee, but have cut it out since finding out. Hating the smell would make it easier :)

  • I must have food aversions because reading about all these foods is making me gag!

  • Same here as soon as I hit 6 weeks the nausea kicked in:( So far yogurt makes me gag and I used to eat almost everyday! Also I found out anything greasy I pay for the next day
  • Same here! I am having to fake it at work too because me and my co-workers make specialty coffee every morning and they would know right away and we aren't ready to tell. But 2 of my friends that know and DH cover for me (DH and I work together so he will sneak to my office later and steal my cup!)

ETA: sorry newbie mistake, I thought I was quoting pp about coffee but I hit reply instead
