December 2012 Moms

have you had to get a different sized shoe yet?

I have read that a lot of times your feet grow while pregnant and that you need to be measured a few times throughout your pregnancy to get the right size. I haven't had my feet grow at this point, but I am needing some new shoes that are not quite so much heel and I am trying to get a size that I will need. Especially with summer shoes going on clearance and because i will probably still be able to wear sandals up to October, I wanted to get shoes, but in the size that I will need.

For STMs, did you have to get a different sized shoe and when?

  • I really should.. not so much because my feet have grown in size but because by the end of the day they are very swollen and I think I'm starting to get bruises on the tops of my feet from where my shoes are too tight.

Shopping for shoes sounds about as fun as shopping for bras (which I also need to do) yuck Indifferent

  • This topic annoys me so much.  I hate my feet right now.

Before pregnancy w/DD I was a size 8 and sometimes a 8.5.  My feet grew and I was a 9 at the end.  I stayed a 9 so I had to get all new shoes.

Already this pregnancy my size 9 shoes are not fitting.  Grrrr.

  • My feet went up a size with DD and never went back. They have not grown (yet!) this time. I purchased a shoe stretcher from amazon though because I couldn't handle the though of not being able to wear all of my wonderful shoes again. Well worth it in IMO.

I did buy one pair of not so cute naturalizer shoes with DD because my feet were so swollen and sore- I had to buy an extra wide!!

  • It's been so hot that I've worn nothing but sandals for the past month, if not more. Hopefully I won't be in for a big surprise when I go to put on pants and real shoes one day!

  • I hope my feet don't grow!  I am already a size 11 and never find anything cute.  If I go higher I don't know what I will do.  I will be so sad if I can't wear my shoes.

  • I am a 8 or 8 1/2 I did buy one pair of size 9 sandals (first time ever) and my high heals were all fairly rigid and I just can't bring myself to wear them any more.
  • The only reason I didn't have to buy new shoes was because DS was born in the summer and I only wore flip flops.  But my feet didn't fit into any of my regular shoes.  I'm sure I will have to buy something new for this pregnancy, flip flops are not going to work in December around here.

  • Was actually wondering if my feet had shrunk a few weeks ago (don't know if feet being cold could cause that....)  .... the heeled wedge sandals I have (2 1/2 inches or less) are making my pelvis hurt if I wear them - esp on steps/stairs.

Am starting to think about getting flat sandal like shoes with straps that would be adjustable (so as feet swell, the shoes can change size with me).
