One more question...

I forgot to ask this before:

Did anyone have to meet and discuss the anesthesia before ER? The nurse on the phone said she wanted me to speak to them about the anesthesia on Wednesday and she made it sound like it was only due to my BMI.

Obviously, I already know that I am a chubster and that there are always concerns with anesthesia and BMI, but I was wondering if anyone else had to do this and, if so, what was discussed.

Just want to know what to expect...

    Yes, I had to do that when I cycled at a clinic near Philly.  Apparently at that clinic it was standard for all their patients.  I think it may have been because the retrievel was actually done in the hospital. 

    Also, I know NJ has stricter requirements for anesthesia.  I was required to get an EKG before ER due to my age in NJ, that was not a requirement in PA.

    Both times I had anesthesia, I received a call the night before to briefly discuss medical history.  That's standard.  No worries. :)
    Baby girl Lila born 2013.
    Baby boy Henry born 2015.
    Expecting our capstone baby (boy) early March 2018.

    I had to fill out a pretty extensive form prior to being put under - but there was no "consult" per se.

    We chatted before the procedure... Basically asked if I'd ever been under before and if I'd had any issues
    TTC #1 Since 4/2010, Cycle 30
    Positive for HLA-B27, I'm a mutant :p
    Testing - Me ok, gluten issue? DH - borderline count, low motility
    4/28/11 IUI#1 = BFP!(5/25), EDD 2/2/12 - m/c 5w3d
    7/3, 7/31, 9/25 - IUI#2-4=BFN
    IVF#1 - 1 blast = BFP!! (12/30), EDD 9/9/12, confirmed c/p 4w2d
    FET#1 3/2/12 - 2 blasts =BFP!! EDD 11/18/12, us#1 = twins! Confirmed m/c 5w6d

    Yes they did that @ the clinic where I did IVF #1.  They made me get a spinal because of my BMI.  Basically it was to cover their @sses because I've been knocked out 2x with no issue. 

    Now that I'm @ my old RE's for IVF #2 she's already told me she's not doing a spinal because there's no need to.  Thank God because it was really annoying wanting to pee & not being able to feel your crotch to do so!

    Just another thought since you are at C.ooper.  You have to pay for anesthesia separately so it could also be that they want your credit card number!  The anesthesiologist comes from C.ooper Hospital in Camden and is totally separate from the RE's office.
