Zayne has arrived!

It's been a whirlwind past few days lots of emotions but we couldn't be happier or more blessed.

Birth story:

I started having contractions on july 14th at 3:00am. We decided around 10 am to get a hotel room near the hospital so I could labor closer by since we lived about an hour away.

I labored at the hotel until about 4 pm waiting for contractions to become more regular. They never did but I hit a point where I couldnt manage the pain anymore and decided to go into L&D to get checked. When they checked me I was only at a 3 and they sent me walking for an hour and then checked me again I had zero progress. They hooked me up for monitoring and gave me some phentenol (sp?) for the pain. I was planning on wanting an epidural but wasn't going to be able to get one until I dilated to 4.

Fast forward an hour I progressed to a 4 and was finally admitted! They got the epi going ASAP thank goodness as I was exhausted from not sleeping all night and in a lot of pain. The epi gave me a chance to relax and get some rest. I was checked every two hours after the epi. I quickly progressed to 6 cm at the first check then to my surprise my water broke with the second check and I was at a 10!

The nurse let my body labor down for a while before starting to push. I pushed for about 3 hours. I was so exhausted that I was falling asleep between pushes. I finally got him to crown but then dr wasn't in the room and I had to wait and breathe through a few more contractions until the dr got in there. Then I was finally able to get him out! It was an amazing emotional experience! DH did awesome and is such a proud daddy!

Zayne was born on 7/15 at 3:34am (40w 3d) weighing 7lbs 14 oz and 21 inches long.
