Rasberry Leaf Tea

Any ladies drinking this or drank this to help strength uterus and contractions during last few days of pregnancy?? If so, what were the results?  Thinking about it...

Re: Rasberry Leaf Tea

  • I've been drinking this daily since they stripped my membranes last week and I got nothing here. :(

  • Just started a few days ago and don't feel a difference.  It tastes good to me though, so at least it isn't a lose lose

  • And where can you buy it?

I was looking casually at the pharmacy last week and didn't see anything, but this must have confused my husband somewhat - he came home with Emergen-C raspberry vitamin drink :p So sweet, he is.

  • I started drinking it at 37 weeks and was induced at 39 weeks. My labor was 5 hours and I pushed a total of 5 times during 2 contractions. I had no tearing and my uterus went down in size within hours. The bleeding after the first 12 hours was never more than a pantyliner worth and two weeks after it's pretty much just discharge. First pregnancy without tea- 16 hours of labor 33 minutes of pushing tearing stitches and 8 weeks of pretty heavy bleeding. Not sure if the tea is what did it but I don't think it hurt! As for where to buy it I bought it on amazon, 6 boxes of 16 tea bags for around 15 dollars.

  • I drank it starting at 38 weeks, lo came on due date. I was in labor for 13 hours with less than 2 hours of pushing. I read somewhere it's best to start around 34 weeks.

  • I have been drinking 2-3 cups a day for the past 2 weeks.  Haven't noticed anything different, but I think the benefits come when you really do go into labor and start having contraction, it is thought to make them more efficient by having toned your uterus.
  • I've been drinking it too. I think this is one of those "might help, won't hurt" kind of things. I doubt you're likely to see some overwhelming, positive and measurable benefit. I had a post-partum hemorrhage last time so I'm hoping this might help but don't suppose there is any way to truly know if it was helpful or not.

  • Thank you for the comments...I had my first cup this morning. I think I will continue to drink the 3 cups a day until my due date. I hope that if it does not bring labor on it will at least help shorten labor.

Also, I saw someone asked where to purchase. I bought mine at the grocery store Wegman's but any place like Whole Foods or Trader Joes will carry it.

I doubt that you would find in local grocery store though. ... health food store would likely have it and perhaps GNC.

  • I bought it loose on amazon an having been brewing in gallon pitchers since 27 weeks. I drink a ton of it, hopefully it will make labor easier, if I ever get there!

  • my MIL who was an L&D nurse swears that it helps with contractions and bleeding. I figured I would give it a try.  It tastes good, so what the heck.
