Anyone doing Insanity?

I just finished workout #5 and am looking for a workout buddy.

I am 8 weeks post partum and 7lbs over pre pregnancy weight and my goal is 10lbs.  I am less concerned with the weight though and more interested in getting back into my clothes.  My butt has flattened majorly and the weight is mostly around my hips/thigh area although some is probably in my breasts due to breastfeeding.

Re: Anyone doing Insanity?

  • i tried the fit test and thought it was way too exhausting for me.  I'm doing shawn t's hip hop abs right now because that's my only complaint 15 months later.  you are so lucky to only be 7 pounds over right now

  • I saw your post on the nest actually.  My abs are very weak so I may do hip hop abs afterwards.  I like that insanity is total body and since my butt flattened so much, I like that it is so sore!

  • for sure I will.  I'm not doing it 6 days a week just because it's hard to find that time and I've never worked out more than 4 days a week because I get burned out on it.  BUT I am doing it 4 days a week, but I'm never on the right day.  I just completed the 2nd week.  my butt is SO small its crazy, i think it's smaller than before I was pregnant, now if only I can get my abs toned like that:)  I've pretty much decided that I don't want the scale to go down anymore, 80 pounds is enough lost for me.  If I can stay the same weight or even a pound or two more and have awesome toned abs I would be ecstatic.  I will post before and after pix when it's over.  I took a photo the day I started.  I'm probably only going to do 1 month right now, our new gym opens in a couple week and I'm itching to get back into weight training.

I did Insanity on and off for 6 months and it was AMAZING!!  I never followed the food plan & really needed to tighten up my diet but I lost 15 lbs and have kept it off (but now am pregnant and feel better about where I'm starting off with my weight).  I've stopped for my pregnancy but definitely plan to start as soon as I feel up to it post pardum.  It is a work out that makes sense.  It is definitely difficult and exhausting, but it combines exercises that I've always done in sports and practices.  And there is no equipment which is nice!! Good luck!! I loved every minute of it!

  • I started Insanity a few months before getting pregnant...and had to stop for awhile.  I was just too exhausted all the time!  But now, in the second tri, I've regained a ton of energy and have started again.  Albeit at a slower pace, but still a great workout.  I hope to keep going with it as long as possible.  Good luck with the program!
