? About giving d milk

Do you only give it with meals or are there separate drink times in which lo just drinks a whole sippy of milk and then regular meal/snack times?

Re: ? About giving d milk

  • we pretty much have it available to her all day, bc she doesn't drink much of it. she'll drink 1-2oz if we offer it at meals, but we give her the cup off and on throughout the day at home too (and at daycare they told me they give it to them any time they ask for it by signing, with meals/snacks, and when they first come in from playing outside, so pretty often!)

We do the same. I'm lucky to get 8 oz. of milk in DS a day, so I offer it a lot, not just at mealtimes.

  • my DD drinks her milk so I dont want to over do it - especially because she eats a lot of dairy

so we give about 6 oz int he morning and then with lunch and in the afternoon.  She has a third with an afternoon snack. She usually gets about 16-24 Oz of whole milk a day.

  • We offer it frequently throughout the day, otherwise he'd drink barely anything. He'll drink 2oz or so with each meal, but if I offer it between meals, and while he's playing/while we're out running errands, he'll drink 15+oz in a day (in addition to BF at night). I've heard not to let them constantly have it (there is even a warning on his cup), b/c it's not great for their teeth, but we brush twice a day, and occasionally 3x a day (night and before each nap).

  • We only give with meals. Water with snacks and accessible all day. She has a sippy designated for milk only. It has a softer spout.  She gets 4 oz at each meal. Sometimes she doesn't finish the lunch milk so I just put it back in the fridge and fill it back up to the 4 oz mark for dinner. So she gets about 10-12 oz of milk and then yogurt and cheese daily.
