I'm really interested in breast feeding, but obviously, that isn't going to happen naturally. I know we had a post or two about this fairly recently, and whether you CAN induce, but I was wondering if any of you had, and if so, what pump you used? Would you recommend it? Did you buy or rent?
Re: best pumps for inducing lactation
I don't have experience with re-lactation, but I did BF my bio son for a year. I had the Medela Pump N Style and it's a GREAT pump.
I would call your local hospital or OB office and ask if you could make an appointment with (or even just call and talk to) a lactation consultant. She would be able to help you!

After multiple m/c's, a MTHFR diagnosis and the Lord calling both of our hearts in the same direction, we're adopting!

I have looked into it. Some people say that you really need a hospital grade pump, but the lactation consultant I spoke with said that you don't necessarily need that type. She also said that you can just latch a newborn with a lactaid if you don't have the 3 months to pump in advance, but it will take some time for your milk to come in.
However, I'd err on the side of caution and use a hospital grade pump anyway. You can rent them from just about any hospital that does L&D and some pharmacies. I've heard from a few friends who rented hospital grade pumps that they are more comfortable. I have never used one, so I can't say. I had a Medela Swing Pump, but I wouldn't try to use it for this. Not at first anyway.
Please let me know how things go if you end up trying!! I'm really interested in trying myself when we are matched/placed.
