First day of Daycare

So, today is the first day of daycare for DD. She was full of smiles and no issues whatsoever when I left. I, on the other hand, have been terribly sad and lonely today.

I am working from home this week, transitioning back into work and the daycare thing. The house is so quiet. I feel like I have forgotten something or missing something. I miss my little baby girl. I am so used to our snuggle time I don't know what to do with myself.

It gets easier right???

4 o'clock can't come fast enough.

  • It definitely gets easier! And I feel bad for saying this, but it almost turns into a welcome break sometimes.

  • It does get easier!  I felt better after he was there about a week and they figured out his temperment and his personality.

I work from home sometimes too and I sometimes feel likeI have forgot about him but then I remember he is at daycare!

I feel the same way!  I love my baby and my DD but I think I need the break to be a good parent.  It helps me unwind from parenthood just long enough that I don't go insane some days!

  • Yes!  I'm not even back a full week, and it's easier to leave in the morning.  It's much harder on us than on them!  By the time they are aware enough to know you are leaving, it's normal.  And there will definitely come a point where you will be glad for the break.  I haven't hit that yet, but it does make me appreciate my time with her a lot more.

This was not the case for me. It got easier but I hated leaving my boys every day I did it.  I really hated not being there to nurse I hated pumping and that made me miss ds so much more.  I am so thankful we've figured it out for me to stay home.
