Babysitter question

How much do you pay a babysitter per hour?  I feel so silly asking this, but I'm a FTM and didn't really babysit when I was a teenager.  TIA

If we were to have a sitter, it would be $10 an hour for DD.

That being said I would have no clue how much to pay someone here...our fitness club charges us ?4 an hour. I am not sure what is the going rate in the UK.

  • I agree with the $10-12 an hour. $12 if the person has more experience.

  • I'm not super experienced in the area or anything, but from what I've heard it's pretty dependent on the area you live in.

  • Depends on your area we do $5/hr for a younger kid (like 13 yr old) if they are doing like a mothers helper thing where I am home while they help with the kids or $8/hr for a high school student, $10/hr for college-- we also vary the rate depending on the driving situation. If I am driving to pick them up and drop them off after I pay a little less- if they are using their own gas to get here and back home then I pay a little more. HTH!
