Too Early For Nursery

Has anybody else started thinking about the nursery ideas? I've done just a little bit of research on some items and have started to sense a slight theme when it comes to a girl. With a boy I have not done any online looking bcause DH already has a boy theme picked out.

Re: Too Early For Nursery

  • I think it's to early to actually start working on he actual room but brainstorming ideas is totally fine... You should see my pinterest! So much fun! It's helping me realize this is real.

  • Since I already have one child, one of the only things I'll need/get to buy this time around is bedding.  And yes, I've been googling. :)

  • I've been thinking about nursery stuff, absolutely! Mainly because I want to make sure that anything we'll need is reasonably priced and not too expensive (whether for us, or anybody wanting to buy for us). I've already told my husband that, if it's a girl, the room is going to be purple with a touch of pink, and if it's a boy, I want a frog theme, so probably a good bit of blues and greens.

And as an aside, do I assume correctly from your username that you're a Big Brother fan?

  • It is not too early to think, but I am not following through on any ideas for a while.

I plan on keeping the nursery pretty neutral because I would like to reuse as much as possible for our next LO.  Right now I am thinking browns, greens, and yellows.

  • I haven't thought about it yet, but do know this baby will have to share a room with DS so we will have to be creative, especially if its a girl.

  • I'm going to wait until I find out the gender. If I am having another girl I will moved DD to another bedroom and buy new stuff for her. If I am having a boy I will leave DD where she is and give DS the new room.
  • I have been playing around with ideas for a while now but nothing is set in stone.  My dh yesterday actually brought it up and wanted me to show him some stuff.  At one point he was looking at stuff by himself.  He was looking at things for the nursery, highchairs, strollers etc.  He did not look for hours or anything like that but I did think it was really cute that he wanted to look.

Yes, I honestly didn't think I would stay on TB for long so I just used the most random username. I'm excited to see Britney on the new season, though.

  • I think I will set up a private Pinterest board so I can start pinning.  I think I want to lean towards a gender neutral theme, and avoid light/pastel colors.

I may do gender specific cutrains and/or bedding, but not paint, etc.

  • If this baby is a girl, I actually have the bumper and wall decorations. I got them when I was pregnant with DS because it was perfect and not something I could wait to find out the sex for (it would be gone).

If this baby is a boy, I'm 90% sure the theme and majority of the decorations I will use.

Im a planner by nature so that's just my style.

  • I will have to see where DH stands on this but I don't think we will have a theme.

  • I haven't really thought about the nursery much. I know that if it's a boy, I will reuse all of DS's bedding, etc. If it's a girl, I don't know what the theme will be. We plan on moving around Christmas, so it all depends where we move--if they will be sharing a room or not. I have been looking at double strollers and carseats. DS's infant seat will be close to expired. We are trying to decide if we should get a new one or reuse his.

  • Yes. Gender-neutral Neverland (Peter Pan/Pirates for a boy; Tinker Bell for a girl). But we won't start the decor until the poppyseed pops out. I figure they'll be in our room for the first several weeks anyway.

  • Last summer we painted the room with an idea we both liked. We want our nursery to look like the sky. We painted half the room blue and the ceiling and then the bottom half white. I want that white wood looking stuff to go on the bottom but im not sure of the cost. We painted the top a sky blue and have a stripe in the middle. We will either put a wall paper border to match or use a chair rail (that was my first idea). I have someone in mind I want to hand paint clouds on the walls and ceiling. This is as far as we have gotten. We have not bought furniture or moved anything in/out of the room as it is a junk room for now. I have found some ideas on pinterest that I love. Ive also been planning this pregnancy for almost three years lol
