I'm due the 31st and haven't been doing ANYTHING to encourage LO to come for a few reasons. Mostly, I had a premie with my first and I was doing anything I could to NOT encourage that to happen again (staying super hydrated, trying to stay off my feet, etc). I guess I figured I'd go early since I was early with my first and the second tends to come even more quickly.
Lastly, we have been in the middle of building a new house, so I've had soo many important decisions and things to do that I felt it was easier to handle with only one toddler and not an infant as well.
Well, things finally slowed down and I'm wondering if I should be walking more to encourage dilation. Its just so freakin' hot I don't really want to be outside with my son pushing the stroller or what not.
So...in short..are you ladies encouraging LOs to come already? I know there is only so much control we have over things, but I'm wondering if I should prep so I can encourage dilation and avoid induction.
I'm just 38 weeks, so I know I still have some time
Re: Late July Mommas...
Make a pregnancy ticker
I'm 38+5 today. I did acupuncture at 38+1 because I knew my OB was going to start pushing hard for induction (twins) and I'm not willing to use pitocin. Well, by 38+2 I was dilated to 5cm and my contractions are still milder than period cramps. It was enough to keep my OB from telling me to head to the hospital, but I'm taking my lack of labor as a good enough sign that these babies aren't quite ready yet. I don't know how long I'm going to let this go on, because obviously risks do go up with twins, but for today, I'm not doing anything to encourage my body to go into labor.
I am due the 28th. I am not really trying all that much either. I go on walks when I can, but I have been doing that throughout the pregnancy. I did buy some pineapple, but my reflux is so bad its hard to get it down. There is no way I could eat a whole one! lol.
I had to be induced at 38w with DS. While its kind of weird that I am the most pregnant I have ever been, I really want this LO to come on his terms if possible. So I am happy to wait it out. If we get into August though, I might be singing a different tune!
Sounds like most of us are all on the same page..they will come when they come!
It's funny because I feel like every other post last week was "GET THIS BABY OUT", so I thought I was the only one who wasn't quite so anxious. However, I still have 2 weeks to my due date...my opinion may severely change by then
I'm due the 31st as well. I'm not doing anything to encourage labor. We just moved yesterday and I really don't want to bring LO home to a house full of boxes. I'd love for him to stay out for at least another week. DS2 was born earlier than this and I had a lot of false labor last week so I've been pleasantly surprised that LO has waited this long.
Around 39.5 weeks, I'll probably start walking again if he hasn't arrived yet but I think that I'm moving around enough now (chasing two kids and moving) anyways.
