Solids/FF Question - repost from 3to6

My LO is 5.5mos and eating solids 1 - 2x per day.  he loves solids and eats anything and a good amount.  he is also ff and takes a bottle on average every 2.5hrs.  The past few days he is almost completely refusing the bottle.  Some times he will fuss and scream if i try to ff him or he will only take 2oz at best.  he will however take solids in a second.  anyone else dealing/dealt with this?

    Im not replacing food for bottles but when he wont take bottles I figure I have to give him something!  How am i to give him water if he wont take the bottle?  Do you give a sippy of water?

    I use a sippy cup or straw cup (she figured that one out yesterday). She wasn't a fan of bottle anymore either so I started putting bm or formula in them. The novelty grabbed her interest and tricked her into eating.

    Oh and she loves drinking out of her little munchkin cups. It's messy but enough gets in her.

    When is it recommended that babies start drinking from a sippy cup? I think DS is getting tired of the bottle as well, but I don't think he would do well with a cup yet though.

      If they can drink from it, then I say that's a good age to let them drink from it.  DS figured it out a few weeks ago, and although the flow is a little fast for him at times, he's taken formula from it when I went shopping last weekend.

    We had this problem a while back when we were giving LO two + tablespoons of oatmeal plus a tub of fruits or veggies for lunch.  She was refusing bottles in the afternoon, then just wanting her solids for dinner.  So we eliminated the oatmeal at lunch, and then she started taking the bottles in the afternoons again.  Turns out she was just getting too full at lunch.  She is a total foodie - she loves her solids, but we had to pull back, because it was at the expense of her formula.
