I need a stroller rec

I feel like such a bee bee on the bump boards asking this, but I need a rec for a good versatile stroller. I am selling my travel system stroller. I still have a huge jogging stroller that i like to take to the park etc, and a small no-frills umbrella stroller I keep in the car for quick errands and such, but I need something in between, a good all-purpose stroller.Oh, and its for an 8 month old so it doesn't need to accommodate an infant carrier or anything.

Something affordable if possible, I am really not into the designer strollers. Thank you!

It kind of seems ridiculously expensive to me, but some of my very level-headed (not designer focused) friends recommended the Uppababy G-Luxe.  I've never tried it myself, but it does recline and is only 11lbs.

  • For our car we have the Peg Perego Vela, which I really like.  It's not an umbrella, but it moves around really easily (especially in the mall), has a nice tray and good storage underneath and I really like the sun shade, it goes down really far and it reclines flat.  It also closes and opens easily with one hand. If we end up getting a double stroller we will probably get the double version of this (I think it has a different name).

  • We used the Graco Metrolite - it was great for us and we still use it very occassionally.  Big basket, tray for DD w/ a cup holder, sun cover.  I'd go to teh consignment places and see what they have.  I think our Metrolite was ~120ish.

I have been...they had quite a few last time I strolled by but I wasn't familiar with any of them. Peg Perego was one but I am not sure if it was the model Cooper suggested or not, I will have to check. I have also been cruising CL. thanks for the recs everyone!

  • I picked up the Joovy sit and stand for when Caroline gets a tad bit older. Funny how I thought my almost three year old would never want to ride in a stroller again. Yup that all changed when baby came along. At the moment, if C's being worn, A rides in our travel system stroller (Chicco). But as soon as she starts to sit up, I'm busting out the Joovy stroller. It has a nice basket underneath for storing stuff, and travel for baby, but it doesn't have any cup holder for me. Oh well, I think I can deal.

We have the Vela too, and we really like it for all of the reasons you listed above.  We got it at BRU with a 20% coupon, so that helped keep it reasonbly priced.

We have this one and really like it. I bought it specifically, because I needed something light weight that reclined. There are other great strollers around the same price point, but this is the lightest that reclines. It has a great sun hood. It does not have any frills, like a parent organizer, or a snack tray. It does have a cup holder though. We use it in the city and it works well.
