Finally sleeping but fussy with food?

After two horrific weeks of waking up every hour and a few nights every 20-30 minutes my girl has been sleeping like a champ the last few days! 9pm-5/5:30 am, eating and then sleeping until 9! - Heavenly!

But she's getting really fussy with her bottle. She usually eats 6Oz every 4 hours but throughout the weekend she'd get fussy and only eat maybe 4. I even stopped giving her solids which was so little to begin with but still... I usually do manage to giver her a couple more Oz an hour or so later but it sucks because I've ended up throwing away some of the formula.

Have you noticed anything like this? I'm not too worried about it yet but it can't be ideal if it continues....

Maybe try spacing the bottles out a bit?  Before solids, DS was eating 6.5 ounces every 3 hours (like clockwork- would wake up from naps on the 3 hour mark to eat).  Now that we are doing solids, he'll get a bottle when he wakes up.  Then about 1.5 hours later, he'll get a jar of puree for bfast.  I find that his next bottle is usually 3.5-4 hours after the first bottle when there is a "meal" in between.

I know you said you aren't really giving a lot of solids but maybe try playing around with a slightly bigger bottle further apart?  Or a smaller bottle more frequently?

My other thought is that maybe the nipple flow on the bottle is too slow and she's getting frustrated.  DS was doing this like crazy when we were at the Level 2 nipples (we use Dr. Brown's widenecks).  He would be sucking and sucking then by the time he was only a few ounces in he's get pissed and just stop.  We switched to the Level 3 nipples and he's back to draining bottles like a champ.

Thanks! Yeah I figured I'd space out the bottles and maybe try giving her 6.5-7Oz... We also use Dr Brown's wide neck and are at level 3 nipples so I'd think that's not the issue... :/ I also did notice that she's too nosy to see what else is going on and if she gets distracted it's over UGH!

DS is like this too.  Whenever there are other things going on or people talking that he can't see, he will twist and squirm to see what's going on.  Feeding now involves several position changes, breaks for squirming and at least a small amount of time with him sitting up in my lap, facing out and me feeding him his bottle that way!

Yeah DD faces out most of the time now when I feed her. The mommy-baby time when she gives me that sweet look while eating is pretty much gone :( Stinker!
