Not that I'm going to get one, but I was fantisizing about it last night. My husband works 2nd shift and we'd been bathing the kids in the morning or weekends because I was afraid to bathe them both on my own. Anyway, with all the swimming we've been doing and it being so hot and sticky it just made sense to go back to evening baths.
What works best for us right now is me getting in the tub with them. We don't even own a baby tub because when my son was little we always just bathed together. However, I can't bathe with the baby when I'm home alone with both and just let the toddler wander, so he needs to get in with us as well (which he loves and is more efficient). Anyway, we barely fit and it's pretty hilarious.
Re: I need a bigger bathtub!
That would require my sink to not be full of dishes, which is not the case until after the kids are in bed.
We have something that looks like a small bouncy seat that is made for the tub. We just put LO in it until he/she was big enough to sit unassisted and they bathed together. We have used the sink before, but as you stated, it isn't always clear of dishes when it's bath time.
Congrats on finding a bath time routine that works for you!
My DS and DD have been bathing together since DD's umbilical stump fell off in one of those mesh slings. We have never bathed them seperate and I never needed to get in with them. DD started sitting up and playing with DS when she was about 6 months old or so---Hope you can get something to work out soon.
I dunno... we have about 2 feet between the tub and the wall, just enough for the toilet. Really the problem is that I never bought an infant tub, or infant "sit them up in the big bath" thing and I don't really want to at this stage because I know that she'll be sitting on her own soon enough and I won't need it. But I want her to be a good sitter before she's in the big tub without me, and she's maybe a month away from that.
Yesterday I took a shower with the baby first (just a rinse) and then my toddler got in the tub. He was so interested in the shower that he didn't leave the bathroom, but I'm sure that won't last forever.
