PROM @ 31w & TTC#2 = terrified
XP from High-Risk-- DS was born at 31 wks due to unexpected PROM.? Had an emergency c-section.? The placenta was sent to pathology & the results came back that it was abnormally small (bottom 5%).? It was healthy otherwise (no clots, infection).? DS was a nice size 3lb, 11oz & besides prematurity, DS was healthy.? Drs don't know the cause.?
Although we're not ttc right now, we have started thinking about timing. We want ti start trying in about 6months. I know that I will be referred to a MFM, but at this point, I'm terrified of another PROM. What happens if it happens again? At an earlier time?
How do you get past this fear? Does anyone else have a similar experience??

I sit down and talk with your OB, see what extra monitoring they do for you the second time around. I had pre-e with my first, although my water did break, when I was at the hospital that evening before I had her. So the second time around they monitored me weekly starting at 16 weeks for high blood pressure. I also received the 17p shots because of PTL. I ended up being put on bed rest about two weeks before I delivered DD#2 (who was still early).
DH and I decided we wanted another baby and our chances of having another preemie was 33%, so we decided to risk. Obviously we are done now, because I don't think I can ever risk going back to the NICU for a third time.
