Pools?

Are public (like our neighborhood) pools safe? What about private pools (a friend of mine is having a pool party before we plan to tell people)?

Re: Pools?

  • Are you meaning for pregnant women?? There's very little reason why they wouldn't be, unless you're platform diving at 2nd tri or something. It's a very much recommended excercise for anyone, pregnant or not since it's non-weight bearing. I swam with each pregnancy, with my first I trained with my team until 40 weeks, I just slowed the workout slightly in late 3rd tri.

If you are going to a pool party, I don't see why you can't join in. Have fun, and do activities that you can tolerate.

  • Unless your doctor tells you other wise, it's safe and a great way exercise.

As long as they're not whirlpools or hot tubs where the heat is an issue, you're fine.
