I'm hosing a My 31 party on Thursday and want to make little snacky type foods for us to munch on, but I can't think of anything good to make! I have a great recipe for sangria, so that's a definite, but we can't (or shouldn't, really) just have that. lol
Do you have a favorite or go to appetizer type finger food recipe?
Re: Finger foods for a party?
DD: 06-10-15 (32 weeker)
-deviled eggs
-celery and carrots with Trader Joe's spinach artichoke dip (or any brand/store)
-garbage bread (pizza dough spread out, top with cheese, pepperoni or whatever veggies you want, roll it up, cut a few slits in the top, top with egg wash, bake at 350 for 30ish minutes and slice one inch pieces - serve with sauce to dip) - I think we're having that for dinner tonight
-wheat thin, pepperoni and cheese tray
-sausage balls (with sausage and Bisquick)
-breaded and baked stuffed mushrooms

I really like making a veggie pizza, although it is a lot of chopping. Dough is crescent roll dough - very yummy!
There are a ton of crescent roll type things you can make. Maybe try the Pillsbury website?
Now I need all these foods! Yuuuummm. I always take fruit and fruit dip (cream cheese and marshmallow cream mixed.) Pinwheels with spicy cream cheese are my favorite when people bring those though!! My friend always brings cherry tomatoes and feta cheese on fancy toothpicks and that's always a hit. You can google the recipe for "jello pretzel salad" - it sounds gross by the name, but a coworker always brings this and it's magical.
My fave is bacon-wrapped dates! So easy too...Stick an almond in the hole of a date, then wrap a section of bacon around it, and secure with a toothpick. Bake on 300 for about 15 mins maybe? Or until bacon looks crisp.
Yummmmmm....
For something sweet, you could do chocolate chip dip. https://www.food.com/recipe/chocolate-chip-cream-cheese-dip-208989
Baked brie (nom nom nom) with a sliced baguette and apple slices.
It's a crowd pleaser!
i just put the brie on a cookie tray, drizzle honey over it and bake it for 30 minutes or so. Transfer to a plate and surround it with bread and apples. OMG, so good.
Now I want brie. I once had a friend's DH tell me that he would propose to his wife all over again just so I would make it for their engagement party again.
Oooh, I love making finger foods! I've made a few recently for some different parties, these were the hits:
- Puff pastry brie bites (puff pastry bites on a popsicle stick with brie and jam inside)
- Spinach & Artichoke dip bites (make the S&A dip, then put it into the little phyllo cups, I have a good S&A dip recipe if you need one!)
- Dessert skewers, alternate strawberries & pound cake on a skewer then drizzle w/ chocolate
- Fruit pizza (get store bought sugar cookie dough & bake it, for the filling mix cream cheese w/ a little powdered sugar & some Cool WHip, then cut and arrange fruit on top)
- Brushcetta
- Wrap chicken bites in bacon & put them on a skewer w/ a piece of pineapple & either bake or grill
Good luck!
This is always a favorite with my guests and is so easy! (we didn't put in the black olives though)

I love to make guacamole or spinach dip in a bread bowl.
You could also do a veggie platter with dip or a cheese, pepperoni & crackers platter.
omg, did you get this idea from Cuban Pete's by any chance? The first time we ever went there, we got the dates wrapped in bacon & were hooked. I started making them at home after that. So good!
