Re: anyone else nauseated even with zofran?

  • Me! I'm so sick of feeling sick. I haven't found anything that helps except being in water (I.e. pool or bath). I'd love to hear what others have to say. Sorry you are sick too!

  • I've been using sea bands and peppermints with Zofran.

  • Have you tried eating something every 2hrs? What about B6 twice a day & unisom before bed? You're lucky you at least have zofran bc my OB won't even prescribe it.

  • Zofran makes it so I don't puke up my food but I still feel queasy throughout the day.  It's really hard to force myself to eat though.   My dr said to try drinking lemonade (I haven't yet because it sounds gross) and ginger.   I'm desperate for this first trimester to end and it to get better.  Hope you can find something else that helps.

  • oh, yes, and sea bands and vit b6. I won't take the unisom during the day cuz I can't work when I want to nap. I've even given up on exercise for the last few days because everytime I do I dry heave. I will probably wait until my next day off of work to try and workout. Then at least I can lay in bed and dry heave the rest of the day.

  • Zofran is an anti-emetic, not an anti-nausea med, meaning it will prevent vomiting, but doesn't get rid of nausea. You just need to keep forcing yourself to eat, even if you really don't feel like it because you need to feed your baby (and yourself).

  • I am too. I haven't had a single day that I was nausea free since 6 weeks. I have been taking the zofran since then to help me not puke constantly. My OB also prescribed me zofran. It helps me to eat more. I still have nausea around the clock but I do get hungry with it which is good so I have stopped losing weight. Still not gaining but glad I have stopped losing. Reglan is a class B drug just like zofran and it helps to move contents through your digestive system more easily. So it also helps a little with the constipation that zofran causes. There is also compazene, but it is a class C, something I am not comfortable taking unless it gets bad enough I can't keep anything down like my last pregnancy. Last time I was on all 3 in week 10. I couldn't even keep sips of water down for a week and a half. I hope you start feeling better.

  • I'm nauseous all day and all night too. Lemon water and eating frequently are really the only things that help me.

The Unisom does work for the nausea but it makes me feel weird and sleepy so I haven't been taking it recently.

  • In addition to my zofran I use sea wristbands and dramamine. When I am really sick I like the dramamine because it will knock me out so I can take a nap.

  • Yes. The Reglan has actually been helping me more than the Zofran.

ETA: I also keep a snack available at all times (puppy chow, chex mix or trail mix). Tried Seabands, Preggie Pops, Jolly Ranchers, Ginger Ale, etc and none really helped enough for me to feel better. I honestly have just given up on trying to feel better. :(

  • Yesterday I started taking 25 mg of Benadryl and my zofran at the same time every  6 hours and it has been life changing for me.  I went from not feeling well at all to going out to friends house and actually stayed up till 11.  Every other night I was in bed by 7 or 8 due to nausea.  I have only tried it for a couple of days so fingers crossed it keeps working.

Seriously??  This is the first time I have ever heard this.  No wonder I'm still so nauseated.

This irritates me bc my MW prescribed it when I was expecting Jack, and I never threw up with him, just felt really nauseated.  WTH?

My doctor prescribed this to me because I was nauseated 24/7-- but wasn't throwing up either. I took it for about two weeks and still wasn't feeling much better so I stopped taking it on Friday. I threw up yesterday and all last night. Maybe the zofran was keeping you from throwing up?? My husband brought be a pill at 4am as I was curled up on the bathroom floor. Still feeling nauseated but haven't thrown up this morning (Knock on wood!)
