I'm looking for a little feedback from those of you with gassy/reflux babies! my 7 week old was on Enfamil Gentlease starting at 4 weeks old after supply issues and a constant rash that they thought may be due to something in my diet. She seemed to be doing ok, but had MAJOR gas issues and reflux. She has been on Zantac, and that seems to have helped with the arching back/crying while eating/etc, however, the gas was still bad. And she burps well, this is more of a GI/passing gas issue. Ped recommended switch to Alimentum, which caused projectile vomiting, so we then switched to Gerber Goodstart Gentle. She has been on this for 2 days, and tonight she was SCREAMING and seemed really painful, however has seemed more happy during the days. We use gas drops, gripe water and swaddling her tummy. Does anyone have any input on the Gerber Gentle formula and gas? I am wondering if this is something that she just needs to "outgrow", or if we should switch AGAIN to the Nutramigen, which is what the ped said is the next step. Any help would be appreciated from this FTM!!

Re: XP: Severe gas/formula issue?
Is the screaming just for a few hours in the evening?? If so that's fairly normal for babies.
It can take 2-3 weeks if it was something in your diet effecting her, to clear out of her system. We had the same problem so i cut out dairy and we put her on formula while i pumped bc we just couldnt stand to hear her so upset. She wouldnt take ailmentum or nitrimugen (sp?), so we put her on the soy version of earths best since she was getting the regular one supplementally before and its been wonderful, but it still took about a week before there was improvement AFTER we exclusively cut out what was bothering her.
I would suggest helping her to pass the gas in anyway you can. We do lots of belly rubbing and bicycle legs/lifting her legs to her chest and this helps tons. There are videos on youtube for baby massage to help out gas prbolems! If she passes lots and she's still crying, we resort to the Windii and it usually helps. Also, cuddling on your chest, if you can hold her legs up or atleast one leg up, that will usually ease the discomfort a bit and atleast let you all get some rest!
