NMR: anyone have an IUD?

We know we are done in the kids department (the plan was to only have 2 total.... surprise!!!), and the plan is for DH to get a vasectomy, but we have decided now is not the time for it, and we need something in the interim...

I'm EBF the twins, so I don't want anything that could hurt my supply, ie: mini pill, so I'm thinking about getting an IUD. But I've never had one before. Anyone have any advice, thoughts on them? Also, do you mind sharing how much it cost? Did insurance cover any of it?

I havent had one, but our insurance covers it - as should all US insurers come august 1st.

I had a mirena before this and I have some paranoia that it is partially what caused my miscarriages when I got it removed. However if you are done then less worry for that. It did give me some wacky mood swings on removal and I would personally not get another but many of my friends love theirs still. I had mine in for 3years and my insurance covered it the same as any BC. Good luck!

My twins were spontaneous and I got my mirena 6 w pp. I'm on my second one now. I love it! I haven't had AF since before I got pg. I spot on and off the first few months w the first one,but haven't at all with the second. I had to pay OOP for both because I work for a catholic hospital. The actual IUD is around $850 and the insertion was $155 and the removal was $155.

I had paraguard twice over the years and it worked great. It is nonhormonal so it didn't mess with my hormones at all. It didn't hurt getting it put in or taken out and it is good for 10 years vs. 5 with the Mirena.
