Yesterday I picked up a high chair for Sophie, and, well, let's just say its not in pristine condition. I'm not complaining, because I bought it from someone off Craigslist, and it normally goes for $170 - I got it for $30. It's not broken, but I don't think these parents ever once wiped it off after their kid(s) ate, so it's a little sticky. Fine, nothing a little elbow grease (ha, grease) won't fix.
The Chicco web site says I'm not supposed to machine-wash the seat pads. But they're kind of grody, and they smell like old food. I know, ew. I think a good cycle with some Tide would do the trick. What do y'all think - can I throw these in the wash just once? I'm not going to make the universe explode or start a new black hole if I do, am I?
Re: Can I machine-wash this?
I would either do that or take the hose and some soap to it, then let it dry in the sun. If the world ends today, though. We'll know the truth...It was your fault.
My Colton...Growing up so fast!
And Coralee, his baby sister...On the way!
maybe on the gentle cycle??
What about soaking them in a bucket of HOT soapy water for an hour or so.
ETA- I know what you are dealing with. I bought a wood high chair used. It was gross I had to scrub it down in the back yard.
No new ideas, but I'd either try soaking it in hot soapy water, or the gentle cycle. Or maybe the former followed by the latter.
I agree, who the heck makes a high chair cover that isn't machine washable?
Anyone remember Carlos Mencia? "Dee dee dee..."
