I've been trying to have LO take one nap a day in his crib to get him used to it but his crib "naps" consist of being in there about 10 minutes then he wakes up. Last night we tried to have him sleep in there swaddled but he would wake up immediately after being put down. We eventually gave up, after 5 tries, and just put him in the RnP where he slept from 10pm-6am straight. I want to get him to sleep in the crib within the next couple weeks but nothing seems to be working.. He hates being in there, swaddled or not.
Re: Any other RnP users starting to think crib transition is going to be impossible?
I am starting to think naps are impossible in her crib. She just screams and waves her arms around.
Andplusalso, last night I laid her in her crib about 9:15 and she just laid in there "talking" until 11:20 when she fell asleep. I did change her at 10:30 though. Where as when she is in her RNP she falls asleep instantly.
This is EXACTLY what we are going through. I've been trying to get LO to nap in the crib for over two weeks now and he'll nap for about 30 - 40 mins before he wakes up. We haven't tried the crib at night but last night we tried the Pack n Play to try to get him used to sleeping on his back and it was a total bust. He was up every half an hour from 12 to 4 at which time I couldn't take it anymore and I moved him to the RnP. In the RnP he sleeps from 9pm to 5 am straight.
I don't know what to do. His pediatritian told us that he should be out of the RnP by 4 months, even though he won't be 25 lbs, because they become dangerous once the child can roll and start to get into a sitting position.
I could've written this post myself. He was STTN in the RnP...now he won't sleep. H and I are getting frustrated...but don't know what to do.
My LO won't fall asleep on his own unless he's in his swing. He's very clingy, has been from the start, so he has to be rocked to sleep. If I put him down awake/drowsy but awake, even in his RnP, he cries as soon as I leave the room.
I transitioned out of the rnp a few weeks ago,it took at least a weekor maybe two. I would put her down flat and sort of jiggle the bassinet, then when she eventually dropped off she would wake after an hour then I'd put her back in the rock n play. The next night she might go two hours, then when she woke I'd move her back to the r n p.
Eventually she was spending the whole night in the flat bassinet.
Now I'm transitioning her to her own room and the crib which is not going great as she keeps moving and getting her face jammed up against the bars, or last night i found her screaming with both legs stuck in between the bars.
