Belly aching?

I don't know how to describe it, but every night when I start to get pretty tired my belly gets this weird ache. It's not nausea or gas. I have no appetite at all. It's not painful, just achy. Not heart burn or indigestion. The only thing that seems to help is to lay semi on my side, semi on my belly.  Anyone else experience something like this?

I can relate to this also now i have to lay on my side at least &that usually helps or drink a little water &the aching goes away!!

  • guhhh me too. it's like crampy almost.
  • Yep, right when I lay down for the night I feel uncomfortable. Usually it goes away after a while - I assume it's everything shifting around when I change positions from standing to laying down.
  • Yes, I considered this "nausea" even though I don't feel like I'm going to throw up.  I'm hoping it will soon subside now that I'm entering 2nd tri.  I didn't have any of this with DS!

  • I don't know if I've experienced that exactly, but it's possible.  I definitely experience all sorts of achy, stretchy, bloaty feelings often.  I find that laying with a body pillow helps because I can kind of cuddle it and use it to support my tummy (not that there's much to support right now per se, but I guess it probably accomplishes the same thing that you're talking about laying half on your belly).

  • I'm not sure if mine is the same. I feel like my ligament/tendon is stretching in my lower stomach. I looked this up and it said it was the round ligament stretching due to the growing uterus. It can be eased by laying on your side or just relaxing. The pain goes away quickly when I lay on my side. Hope that helps.
  • Yes! For me, I feel like I'm about to start my period. Not crampy, just heavy and sore. It's not at all painful, just weird and uncomfortable. My doc said that it has a lot to do with muscles tightening because of all the stretching going on inside. The muscles want to contract to keep everything in and baby and all the stuff associated are pushing against the muscles and causing the ligaments and muscles to strain. She said to keep an eye on it, it shouldn't be painful. I have been doing yoga stretches and laying on my back on my yoga ball. It helps sometimes. Laying on my left side, almost on my belly, seems to be the best trick. So glad I'm not alone!
