No flames, please, if it's not your thing. We will have gender u/s on Thursday and then the party on Saturday. I'm so excited to find out the gender with our family around! It's going to be a pretty low-key deal--a backyard bbq with our parents, my sister, and a couple friends. There are tons of cute ideas online but I think I'll just blow up some pink and blue balloons and call it good! Anyway, anyone else doing a party?
Re: Gender reveal party... anyone else having one?

We're doing something very, very simple and only for our parents (cause I know they're the only ones that care as much as we do haha).
We have our appointment tomorrow morning and then we're going to bake the cake with either the blue or pink and just have it at the end of a family dinner tomorrow night. Everyone is so excited though!
Yup. But only with H's parents.
We're having a BBQ at our place. No idea how we're going to announce though!
We find out the day before we leave for London on vacation, so we're just doing something small with DH's parents.
We're getting cake pops made, white on the outside and pink or blue on the inside and will have everyone bite into them at the same time. I kind of wanted to do a real party but just won't have the time.
I hosted one last year and it was a big hit! One of my best friends was expecting and she lives across the country these days. She was coming in town for Christmas when she was only 21 weeks, so the timing was perfect for a gender reveal at the baby shower. I learned how to make cake pops and that was how we did the reveal. The pops were pretty as a decoration until we were near the end of the shower and did the big reveal.
My MiL wants to do a gender reveal shower, but I'm not sure how that would work in my case. I don't think I want a gender neutral shower and I don't want to have to keep the sex a secret from the time of our a/s to whenever my shower is. I'm hoping to talk her into a backyard BBQ with both sides of the family and maybe some super close friends if they really want to be there.
We haven't told any family that we are finding out on Monday afternoon. I'm debating on how I'm going to tell everyone since nobody lives near us.
My favorite idea for my parents is sending them some yellow and white flowers with a card that says something cute and and ends with 'it's a <baby's sex>!'
I'm not sure how to tell anyone else though, since I don't want to go broke ordering flowers online. :-)
we were considering it, But my mom is going to be OOT the weekend we find out and I dont know if i can wait a week and a half to tell everybody..
If we do I probably wont tell people its a gender revel "party" because I dont want them to feel obligated to bring gifts, and some people had mentioned (on a PP) that they may feel like they should............. Maybe I'll word it as Luncheon or BBQ..
I might make cupcakes/ cake.
