Hi Ladies!
I'm hoping to use this board as a way to stay accountable for my fitness during this pregnancy. My partner and I are 5 weeks pregnant with our first "together" baby and we are so excited!
While I was doing a pretty good job staying fit and in-shape, during the last couple months my workouts hit a wall. I needed to spend extra time with our 9 year old in April and May, and then in June we started Follistim, which made be bloat so badly I didn't want to move, let alone exercise. Then a two week wait where I just tried to make the baby stick and didn't want do do ANYTHING that would make trouble.
Well, baby has stuck, we're 5 weeks now (yay!) and I'm ready to dive back in. I feel great and just did 30 min on my bike trainer, which I thought was a good compromise from regular biking. Apparently, pregnant ladies fall off bikes at a much higher rate than everyone else.
And I checked the lap times at our pool and figured out when to go! Plus, I got two rides on my old lease horse, one this week and one next. I know that riding is a very high-risk sport, especially for pregnant ladies, but you'll just have to trust that I'll be okay. Of all the sports or activities I could do in the world, riding is the one in which I, personally, am probably LEAST likely to injure myself.
I feel great to have made a start to getting in shape. I'm certainly not trying to lose weight, but I want to work at regaining a gentle fitness and not getting adding surplus fat when I should be adding baby, fluid, bits and junk. In other words, I just want to be as healthy as possible and make a nice baby.
Looking forward to getting to know you!

"Things separate from their stories have no meaning. They are only shapes. Of a certain size and color. A certain weight. When their meaning has become lost to us they no longer have even a name. The story on the other hand can never be lost from its place in the world for it is that place.” ― Cormac McCarthy, The Crossing
