do your babies share a room?

figured I'd start another post.

My babies share a room right now because our 3rd bedroom is small (9x9).  Problem is, while I can put dd down & she's shown she can fall asleep on her own, there is no way I can put DS down...he SCREAMS. He'll only fall asleep in my arms.

How do you establish a bedtime if they share a room & one (sometimes both) scream?  I obviously don't want to disturb the other baby if they about to fall asleep. But I also don't want to have to rock ds to sleep until he's 3!

    Could you try laying you ds down first in the hopes he will fall asleep before it is time for your dd to go to sleep?

    Mine do.  My DD falls asleep much easier than my DS, but we still put them down together.  I don't know if we're just lucky, but my DD falls asleep (and stays asleep) with no problem even through DS's screaming.

    My girls share a room.  I never ceases to amaze me that they can fall asleep when their sister is making a racket three feet away, but they do.

    I have been lucky. My kids share a room, and one will be SCREAMING, and the other is in the crib right next to the other just snoozing away. I think they are used to each other. They learn to just sleep anyway. From the day my twins were born, they have been exposed to lost of noise, from the beeping moniters in the NICU, to the other crying babies in the NICU, to eachother, or me cleaning, vacuuming etc. They learn to deal with it and sleep anyway.     Yes they share a room and will share one until we get into a bigger house. Our third BR is our office and spare room for guests. I guess we were lucky, if one was crying the other wasn't terribly bothered by it. In another month or so, your son will be old enough to learn CIO too, so you may only be dealing with the crying unless you're holding him a few more weeks!

    It's been a battle for us too.  My son was the one that could sleep in his crib all night - my daughter was the light sleeper and she would wake up SCREAMING - we never separated them though.  My daughter would sleep in our bed and then we'd transfer her.  She would wake up - but my son would sleep through the night.  I see it as they were in the womb together they get used to each other.  Don't worry about them waking each other.  It takes a while but they'll get used to it.

    My DDs started out sharing a room but then Laney was waking Alie up, so we separated them.  I figured that we would have never put them in the same room to begin with if they were not born at the same time.  Laney's room is MUCH smaller than Alie's, but she doesn't seem to mind.  They both love having their own space.
