My friend ate it all the time when she was pregnant. Cold subs, too. Both of her daughters were fine. They rotate meat regularly, so it shouldn't be a problem. If you are really concerned, heat it up.
I am super paranoid about food contamination! So I try to be extra careful. My doctor told me just to get my sub toasted. I also believe I read (from Subway) that they recommend pregnant women get chicken breast or steak on subs, rather than deli meat.
Be cautious when eating hot dogs, luncheon meats, or deli meats unless they are properly reheated to steaming( or 160 degrees F.):Eating out at certain restaurants that provide deli meat sandwiches is not recommended for pregnant women since they do not reheat their deli meats. Restaurants such as Subway recommends that pregnant women eat the following non-luncheon meat items such as meatball, steak and cheese, roasted chicken, and tuna (limit 2 servings a week).https://www.americanpregnancy.org/pregnancycomplications/listeria.html
IVF #1 BFP b/g twins!; loss at 23 weeks due to I.C. and PTL.
IVF #2 BFP 5/26/12; due date 2/6/13; TAC surgery 7/20/12, blessed with another girl & boy!
You can eat anything at subway. If your worried about it just have them toast it. But listeria is being found more on fruit than meat. Plus the turn over in sandwiches is high. Its not one of those places where the meat sits around for ever.

I eat cold lunch meat salads from Subway and haven't gotten listeria. You'll be fine.
For someone who won the "most informative award" and has dealt with IF and loss as I have, it doesn't seem like you have done much research on this topic. I suggest you look up some information on this topic on reputable pregnancy websites. Just because you are fine doesn't mean everyone else will be fine. If listeria takes 3 days to several weeks for symptoms to occur, then how do you really know you are fine? My MFM suggests heating the meat to steaming and staying away from it most of the time because of the nitrates and sodium.

I have researched it and spoken with my doctor, actually. There are many different ways one can come into contact with listeria and it's up to the individual to decide where their comfort level is. If heating up the meat is what your doctor told you to do, great. Mine didn't and so I will continue not to.
Nice jab at the "most informative" though - if you read the rest you'd see it's for TTGP.

I will agree to disagree about lunchmeat. This is the 3rd post about this in about 3 days and I realize that many people are split on this topic. However, I think it's irresponsible to give advice such as, "I did it and I was fine, so you'll be fine" about a topic like this when there are risks involved and there are many doctors who strongly advise against it.
Yes, there are other ways to contract listeria which is why we take other precautions such as washing our fruit thoroughly or cooking raw vegetables. And of course I know the award is for ttgp but I figured once a researcher, always a researcher.

Like PP's said, I usually just ask them to heat up the meat in the microwave. They'll gladly do it for you
.
I am in love with Subway tuna subs and get them whenever the mood strikes. Not toasted.
I think it's fine to get food at Subway, but I don't stay away from much. I'm a rebel I guess!
