Avery will not accept a hard spout sippy so we are still using this one.
Should we be trying to move away from silicone spouts? Or are they okay? Has anyone's pedi said anything. Ours only said she needed to be done with bottles.
DD started flat out refusing bottles around 10.5 months.
We have the same Nuk trainer cups along with harder spout ones. She drinks out of both just fine. So, in DD's mind they are not bottles. They are cups.
I don't think it's a problem. In fact, I just bought another Nuk one because it is one of the few cups I like that come with a cap.

We have both hard & silicone spouts and the twins took to them just fine. We also have straw cups & the only problem they had with them was learning how to drink from a straw, but are just fine with them now.

I think these are a good transition cup but that you should probably continue to work towards more of an actual cup. DD also would only take the silicone spout at first- but now she's getting better at other cups. I think these have definitely helped with the transition!
Re: Sippy Cups: Hard spouts vs silicone
Thanks for asking that. These are the only cups DD will take as well (for milk). For water she'll drink out of anything.
Personally I feel it's still a "bottle" and am hoping she'll transition soon.
This as well for us. She will cry until I give it to her in this cup.
