RNP or Nap Nanny?

Which do you think is better? Do they both serve the same purpose? Did you feed the twins in one over the other?

Re: RNP or Nap Nanny?

  • We have the RNP. I like that it's bed height and folds flat when I want it to. I don't and haven't ever fed the babies in it. I realized I just don't like tandem bottle feeding. Now I have their feedings staggered by about 30 minutes and I hold them in my arms while they eat.

The Nap Nanny just didn't seem safe to me because it's like a big pillow.

  • I had a nap nanny for my son it was before the RNP. I think he would've loved the RNP. I vote for one of those!
  • I decided to go with the RNP on our registry. They're much more affordable, we can use them to pull up beside our bed and seem much more like multi-taskers. I just couldn't justify spending so much on what amounts to a piece of foam.

  • We got 2 hand-me-down nap nannies from a friend.  My son has severe GERD/laryngomalacia,apnea  and has to be inclined at all times.  He sleeps on it every night.  So for us, it's been a lifesaver.

  • We had a pair of RNPs and we loved them. I primarily breastfed but they got one bottle at night before bed, given by my husband so I could have a break. It worked great for him to sit on the floor between them during that feeding. It also was great for during the days when I would be feeding one and the other would be fussy. I could just use my foot and rock the second baby to calm it down. I also would overlap the rocking bars at the bottom and could rock them both at the same time when it was naptime. It was definitely a great purchase for us.

  • I am constantly rocking someone or two someones in our RnPs. They are the most-used, most-valued thing we bought for the twins.

It seems to me the main advantage of the NN is that they wouldn't outgrow it as quick as the RnPs. But you can't rock it! :)

  • We borrowed the nap nanny from a friend and it worked with the girls when they were very little and didn't move around much at all.  Once they started moving it didn't work AT ALL!!  The lap belt didn't hold either of our girls in very well even with it pulled as tight as it would go.They would be able to flop to the side and squirm all over.  I then bought two RNP and they were wonderful!!  They slept in them, we would feed them in there, and it was great for keeping them in one place while I needed to do things.  Now we don't really use them because they are so active they hate being in them.

  • The boys slept in their RnP until 6 months old. No flat spots or head issues, no reflux issues. They loved them. E had a little harder time transitioning to the crib, but N had no trouble at all.

The RnP is sleep rated, unlike sleeping in a car seat or swing.
