NBR - wedding question

So my bro is getting married next year, and my future SIL asked me to be a bridesmaid.

I have never been a bridesmaid before, what should I expect to be my role? costs? etc

The dresses she is looking at are between 250-300, is that a good price?

Any advice ladies, I would really appreciate

Re: NBR - wedding question

  • I've been in 3 weddings.  I just helped out wherever the brides asked for help.  All of the dresses that I bought were $200 and under plus shoes to match.

  • It really all depends... Some brides pay for pretty much everything and some ask you to pay for everything.

"The dress, shoes, accessories and the bouquet"

As far as role: You can help her out with things like getting dressed, fixing her veil, holding her bouquet at the Church and so forth.

    $250 - $300??? It better be a killer dress :)

Seriously. I am honestly not that into the dress but she is marrying my brother. What can I say.

The dresses probably the cheapest thing she has picked. She bought $1000 shoes!!! Omg. My brother will kill her when he finds out.

The bolded and if she is doing anything herself, including the set up/clean up, you can offer to help. I even asked for help with clean up from our wedding and my girls bailed and we spent the first day of our honeymoon cleaning.

Also, yes, it depends on the person as far as what you pay for goes.

OMG, that's outrageous... I don't think I even spent $30 on my shoes. My dress was like $500... I'd want to kill her for your brother. Wow.

  • 300$ dress?  No. No. No. Nope. You'll never wear it again!
