Pediatricians in Philly Area

Hi Everyone - I'm due in October and new to the area.  We are looking for a Pediatrician in the Philly Area.  So far I have found CHOP practices in Flourtown, Haverford, and Chestnut Hill.  Can anyone recommend any doctors at these practices?  Would help my husband and I out greatly!!! Thanks!

  • I know it doesn't really answer your question, but Center City Pediatrics has been pretty good. They're on South Street and 18th, though, so might not be too useful for you.
  • We go to the CHOP office in Chestnut Hill, LOVE our doctor Denise Fitzpatrick. Cannot say enough good things about the practice and the doctor.

  • Hi, We go to CHOP Flourtown and love a lot of the doctors in this practice.  My favorite is Dr. Bonita but I also love Dr. Corcoran, Dr. Tomaine, and Dr. Limmer.  I am not a fan of Dr. Belser and try to avoid her when we schedule our appointments.  Wellness appointments can be hard to get so you always have to book in advance.  If baby is sick and they need to be seen right away, they will work you in that day but you usually don't have a say in which doctor you will see.  If you have a question for a nurse, you call and leave a message and wait for a returned call.  Usually they call back within a few hours.  The nurses are hit or miss.  Some are super nice and some are not so nice.  I have been given conflicting information from different nurses before.  Overall, I like the practice and love that it is affiliated with CHOP.

We also take our sons to CHOP Flourtown.  We were with another Ped but since our oldest son is seen by specialists downtown at CHOP we switched into the CHOP network for Peds too.  So far we have seen Dr. Limmer and Dr. Bonita.  They have been great!  They are also very understanding when dealing with our older son and his condition.

Like pp said, it can be difficult to schedule well visits, but if you tell them to call you when they get their Dr. schedule for the month, they will call so you don't have to.  The one time I called for a sick visit, they were able to fit me in a few hours later.

Overall, we have been happy with CHOP Flourtown.

  • We go to CHOP Chestnut Hill. We LOVE Dr.Kline. She is awesome. This is the second ped that we've seen since Lily was born. We absolutely hated Abington Ped.
