Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Did you see a sleep regression at 5 months?

Our son has always been a mediocre sleeper but a consistent one. His typical sleep pattern is bed between 6:30 - 8, wake at 10, 2, 5 then up for the day at 6:30, then thought the day he takes 45 min naps with about 1.5 hrs awake time in between.

We had a regression around 4 months where his awake times during the day were longer, nap times shorter, bedtime later and wake time earlier, so his usual 13 he's a day was more like 10.5 or 11. Then it got better for a few weeks.

Now he's all over the map. Right now he's been up 4 hours with 1 nap of 15 min. after a night of waking every 2-3 hrs. How can this kid be awake??? I try everything - swaddle, swing, carrier, car, stroller. We are not interested in CIO.

Will he EVER sleep?

DS has been a non-sleeping fool for the last couple of weeks, too.  I have no clue what it is --  I've tried everything I can think of.  Maybe a growth spurt?  IDK, but I am ready for it to pass.  Yawn.

  • Going through the same here. I honestly quit looking at the clock last night so I have no clue, but I know he was up a lot. If I had to guess I'd say every hour-2 hours we were up, for no apparent reason. his naps have been mediocre today and he's cranky, not that i blame him. I'm cranky too!

  • YES!!!! OMG thanks ladies so much I thought it was just me! lol.  He used to sleep from 930pm to anotu 5 am.  Hes been sleeping about like this since he was 2 months old and now all of a sudden he goes to bed at 9 wakes at 1130 goes back to sleep wakes up at 0330 then sleeps agian at 5 then up for the day at 630ish.  its starting to get tiring :-(
  • My LO was consistently sleeping 8:30-6am eating and back to bed till about 8:30 for a good 2 months. Then suddenly as soon as he turned 5 months he was up every 45 mins - 1 hour, he'd then fall asleep for maybe 4 hours then again up every hour or so. i thought maybe it was a tooth? but he's suddenly gone back to his normal schedule...and no tooth in sight. So it didn't last too long but it was brutal....but we've been blessed with a good sleeper so I can't really complain! It will get better though! they just go through phases
