Does anyone here have experience with Designated Adoption (esp if from CO)? We have been planning on doing foster to adopt, but had a designated adoption opportunity fall into our laps a couple days ago. What was your experience? Did you go through an attorney or did you use an agency? Any advice? Thanks!

Re: Designated Adoption
Is it an intrastate or interstate adoption? CO is an "agency state" which means you must use a licensed agency for all the CO pieces.
We had a possibility of one, but it fell through. Our agency was willing to do the paperwork on their end for a reduced fee. If it ever happened again, we'd likely use an attorney.
My best advice is to use an attorney in both states (if you're doing an interstate adoption) so you have someone knowing the laws in each one.
GL!
