am i out of my mind?!!

Sorry for formatting on my phone... I am actually thinking if we cycle again i am going to try to use my oe. H is going to do the dna frag test and i will retest my levels and if all is ok i might do my oe again. We had no luck with de and my eggs looked better anyway. Both re's have said based on my numbers they would cycle me. Am i crazy and pulling at straws? guess we will know once test results come back.
I am AMA and all tests on H came back normal
3 failed IVF with OE and 2 failed frozen DE cycles
Last fresh hail mary DE cycle starting Feb 2013
PAIF/SAIF always welcome

Re: am i out of my mind?!!

  • Never crazy. I'm in the midst of my own crisis over OE v DE, so I get it.  I suppose the key is being realistic with your expectations.  What were your last numbers?

  • I don't think it's crazy at all, especially if you get results that indicate high DNA frag. on your H's side. I've contemplated mini-IVF with DS if my DH's frag. test comes back with poor prognosis, but I'm pretty sure he would not go for that...

  • Definitely not crazy IMO - it sounds like you just want to do what you think will provide you with the best chance to beat IF!  i am so sorry that your donor cycles didn't work. :(

i do think waiting until you get the test results back is a good idea though.

  • I hope you don't mind me posting here...I am getting ready to start my first IVF cycle at CCRM and one of the tests they have mentioned is the Integrin B test to see if your uterine lining has a certain protein that helps implantation.  If it is negative, they are putting people on 2 months of depot lupron before transfer (so a freeze all cycle).  They have found great success with this which is why I wanted to mention it.  Has your Dr. brought this up?

November 2011 - AMH level tested - .83 (normal for age range)
February 2012 - IVF #4 w/ ICSI = (best response ever yet still) BFFN
April 2012 - DNA testing - NORMAL, RE suggests cycling again with own eggs or using DE
On Break indefinitely...not sure we can afford the emotional and financial roller coaster anymore.
