please reassure me. my LO just started rolling all over the place to fall asleep & put herself back to sleep. i found her this morning sleeping on her belly. it worries me sooo much. she didn't even have her head to the side, it was straight down!

DS does this all the time, but he buries his forehead in his mattress and his nose/mouth are in a position where he can breathe. at this point, they will turn their heads to breathe.

DS has slept on his stomach since he was 2 weeks old. He sometimes sleeps face down, but now he spends most of the time sleeping on his side.

she'll figure it out! DD has been sleeping on her belly since about 4 months when she started rolling - it's her preferred sleep position now. It worried me at first, but it doesn't anymore

It freaked me out at first, but now he pretty much tummy sleeps 95% of the time. He started rolling onto his stomach in his sleep about 3 weeks ago.

I figure as long as he can roll in both directions easily, and is happy sleeping on his stomach, I'm going to let him! The first night he did it, I flipped him over and he entered meltdown mode!

DS has been a tummy sleeper since about 3 weeks of age. Once in a while he'll also fall asleep with his face down but his little arms are under his head so he can breathe. We're also still using the AngelCare sensor monitor and plan to until he's at least a year old.

DS has been a stomach sleeper since he was a few weeks old. Oddly enough since he started rolling he has slept on his back some of the time. Guess he decided he would do the opposite of what he was supposed to!

We also used the Angelcare monitor when he was younger, but now that he's crawling & pulling up it was going off all the time so I've recently stopped using it.

I agree. She'll figure it out if she needs to. DS has been a tummy sleeper since week 6. He sometimes does the face down too. He never stays in that position very long. I just figure his neck probably gets tired of being turned all the way.

My DD started to do this about a month ago. I was worried too, because she would roll herself into the corner and would press her face against the mattress. I asked our pedi about it at her 6 month appt and she said that at this point, it's fine however she sleeps. She recommended that I continue to put her down on her back and however she ends up is fine. She said that she is rolling and pressing up with her hands showing good core strength and that she'll move herself in her sleep if she needs to. Don't worry!!! I think most babies do this around this age.

Don't worry about it! DS favored his stomach from day 1. We had him on his back in the RnP for 6 weeks, but as soon as we moved him to the crib, he started sleeping on his stomach. We have an Angel Care monitor for peace of mind, but we got it more for those early weeks of tummy sleeping.

When mine first started sleeping on his stomach it worried me too. Especially when I started to find him face down. It is hard not to worry, but you can't do much about it unless you are going to watch him 24/7. I even mentioned it to the pedi in passing, and he said that since he is strong enough to move around, he will move if he is uncomfortable, can't breathe, etc. It still makes me anxious sometimes, but I've learned to just let it be.

As soon as LO started rolling in his sleep he started STTN. It was like being able to have that freedom helped him relax and self soothe.

E sleeps on his stomach about 90% of the time. I normally put him down in the middle of his crib and he will roll over and sleep right under his soother against the outside rails. He will sometimes also do the face down thing. It really worried me at first and I would go in to check on him if I noticed it but he is all over his crib so I know he would move if he couldn't breath. I still want to move him back over the middle of the crib but I just let he be. You would think with all that room he would want to stretch out but maybe he likes being up against the side.
