NOW they want to play nice

BM called DH about pick up time for today, and also mentioned that her lawyer called yesterday and said their response to us had been mailed. You know, the one we've been waiting on for 2 months. The lawyers are literally only blocks apart, so our lawyer should get it today or tomorrow. Problem is, DH is meeting with the lawyer right now to sign the papers and file with the court. (And pay the $500 retainer)

So, we could pay all the filing costs only to agree to something, or what we file could need to be changed right away because they agree to some things. We don't see them agreeing to the split driving, so more than likely we will end up in court either way but who knows. We already have to pay the lawyer for the papers he just got ready, regardless if we actually file them or not. Ugh, I swear she manages to make this cost us as much as possible.

I have no idea what DH is going to end up doing. We had no idea what the best option was, I told him just to discuss it with the lawyer this morning and go from there.

    I would file regardless. When BD filed we mediated something, and when the court date came we were still in the process of deciding the terms, so our attornies told the judge that we were mediating our own agreement and were almost done, so we were given another month to do so, and at that point if we still hadn't come to an agreement it would go to court to be decided. We were able to come to our own agreements though. GL!

    Thanks, the more I think about it, the more I think it's best we just go ahead as planned. They wouldn't have bothered to respond if they were going to agree to nothing...but BM has been really nice lately and offering extra time and such. So my guess is they agreed to very little in hopes that SOME agreement plus her being nice would make all of this go away.

    It's just been a stressful week anyway (just lots of little stuff) and this was that last thing that made me go OMG I can't take it! lol
