DS isn't walking yet, so I rarely have him in shoes.
He has a pair of crocs and another sandal like shoe just for show. I'm wondering when I should go to stride-rite for a fit and when he should start wearing shoes all of the time?
We only put him in shoes if he is going outside at daycare or playing on the ground in a public place. We will not be putting him in shoes until he's been walking for awhile.

Luke wears shoes when know he won't be attempting to walk like in the car, grocery store, stroller rides and such. This is really only to get him used to the feeling of having shoes on his feet. At home or in our backyard he's always barefoot unless his feet are cold, not exactly a problem this time of year. It's so much easier for them to learn to balance and walk in bare feet. He's been walking really well a few days not but he's still a mess when he tries to do it wearing shoes.

With Tim we basically did what Katie does now. He wore shoes when we went some where public and he wanted to 'stand" and we just got him a junky pair of shoes for that. Once he started walking we got him Stride Rites to wear in public.
We'll do the same for Nick.
