I hate insurance

I EFFING HATE INSURANCE!

 Apparently our insurance covers only certain routine examinations.  I had an annual physical done where my thyroid was checked, blood sugar and a urinalysis.  Apparently those 3 specifics items are not listed as covered benefits for a routine exam. 

So I owe $154.  Not that it's an enormous amount of money, but on top of the >$6,000 I've been billed this year, it really adds up!

    That sucks so bad.  I hate hate hate when insurance nitpicks like that.  I had a similar situation last year when my doc ran a test for a YI (lovely) and my ins deemed that particular test unnecessary.  Tried to bill me $1,500 for it.  I handed the claim to my doc's office and said you take care of it!

    That IS annoying. I thought those were part of a routine exam - I know they are when I go in for a physical. WTF insurance.

    That gets a big WTF from me. Ask your drs office to refile it under a different diagnosis code (ie not annual exam).

    GL! I agree that it seems like something must have been wrong with the way it was billed.  Those tests seem pretty standard!
