Very Late Birth Story

My baby was born 10 days after his due date (memorial day weekend!). I had planned a natural water birth, but about 20 hours into labor my midwife suggested an epi because my contractions were getting further apart instead of closer.

Labor started at 1am just as I was about to succomb to the tempation to take castor oil. Contractions started 4 minutes apart! They only slowed down to 6 minutes (which was when I got the epi), so it was a very intense almost 20 hours of back labor!!! Sitting and laying down was painful and I was soooo tired that all I could do was sleep after I got the epi, and I needed the energy to push for an hour and a half (couldn't feel a thing).

So I moved from team green to it's a boy! He's 6 weeks old and growing like crazy (seriously like a pound a week). It took almost 24 hours of labor but he was born 7 lbs and 10 oz on May 26, 2012! :-)
